Vattekkunnam

Vattekunnam is a small village in Kalamassery Municipality, Kerala, India. A railway tunnel connects the village with National Highway 47 at Edappally Toll. Vattekunnam has three mosques and a temple. A high percentage of people in Vattekkunnam are Muslim. The Vattekkunnam area has undergone a great amount of development recently. Local and foreign investors have been investing a large amount in buying up land, and the resultant boom in land value has changed the face of rural Vattekkunnam. In particular, there has been a big apartment project, by the builder Oceanus, plus other apartment projects, there has been the NH17 railway over bridge, and much road construction nearby is in progress.
