WFXJ, branded as Sports Radio 930, is a radio station in Jacksonville, Florida that broadcasts on 930 AM. WFXJ is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc.. It is also streamed on SportsRadio930.com and on iHeartRadio. The station's studios are located on Central Parkway in Jacksonville's Southside section, and the transmitter is on the Westside.
As WFXJ
The station switched to a sports talk format on December 9, 1991. Longtime morning drive hosts David Lamm and Joe Cowart were released in January 2009.[1] Cowart is now with XL1010.[2]
Current
WFXJ is a Fox Sports Radio and NBC Sports Radio Affiliate. It serves as Jacksonville's home for the University of Florida Gators football, basketball and baseball. WFXJ is also Jacksonville's only home for the NFL, NFL Post-Season, SuperBowl, NCAA Basketball Tournament, College World Series, The Olympics and The Players Championship. In July of 2015 WFXJ hired Seth Harp as its new Director of Programming and Afternoon Drive Host. His show is called Harp on Sports and airs daily from 3PM-6PM.
