Walther Berthold Raster

Walther Berthold Raster (29 August 1875 - 13 January 1944) was an American engineer and inventor.

Raster was born in Chicago on 29 August 1875, the son of German-American Editor Hermann Raster.[1]

In 1906, Raster founded the Justrite Manufacturing Company with Frederick Becker. The company developed, patented and produced industrial safety and waste storage equipment.[2] Justrite became the largest manufacturer of miners' lamps in the US.

Raster patented a number of inventions, including a series of receptacles for oil waste.[3]

He died on 13 January 1944.
