Wansbeck General Hospital is a district general hospital based in Ashington, Northumberland. It is one of two "low energy" built hospitals in the United Kingdom, and is the most northerly General hospital in England.[1] is part of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, the two other acute hospitals in the trust being in North Tyneside and Hexham. The hospital's Accident and Emergency Department is now a 24-hour walk-in centre, following the opening of the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington.

Most general and acute services are provided within the trust; specialist referrals are mainly made to the Newcastle Hospitals (Royal Victoria Infirmary, Freeman Hospital and Newcastle General Hospital, as well as some to Gateshead and Middlesbrough.
