William H. Morgan

William H. Morgan was a military officer.

Biography

Morgan was born on March 31, 1831 in Danvers, Massachusetts.[1] On January 27, 1865, he married Lena H. Maass. They would have a son.

Career

After the outbreak of the American Civil War, Morgan joined the 7th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment of the Union Army. At one point after being wounded, Morgan was taken prisoner. He was later released and re-joined the regiment before being transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps. In 1865, he was brevetted a brigadier general.[2]
