The Very Reverend William Henderson (Walter William Ouless)

The Very Rev William George Henderson DD (1819 – 24 September 1905) was Dean of Carlisle[1] from 1884 to his death in 1905.

Early life

Henderson was born in 1819.[2] He attended Magdalen College, Oxford.[3]

Career

Henderson was a Fellow of Magdalen College, Oxford, his alma mater[4] and a Tutor at Durham University. He was Master of Hatfield College, Durham, from 1851 to 1852.[5]

Henderson was ordained in 1859. He was then Headmaster of Victoria College, Jersey, and Leeds Grammar School before his appointment to the Carlisle Deanery.

He died on 24 September 1905.
