Y Ladi Wen

Y Ladi Wen ("the White Lady") is a Celtic mythology apparition, dressed in white, and is most commonly seen at Hollantide. Known in Welsh oral tradition, she is evoked to warn children about bad behaviour.[1] Y Ladi Wen is characterized in various ways including being a terrifying ghost who may ask for help if you speak to her, or she may offer treasure or gold.[2]

She is said to haunt the grounds of Ogmore Castle, protecting its buried treasure.[3] Y Ladi Wen is also connected with the village of St Athan, in South Wales.[4]
