Yelena Safonova
Yelena Vsevolodovna Safonova (Russian: Елена Всеволодовна Сафонова; born 14 June 1956 in Leningrad) is a Soviet and Russian actress. She is an Honored Artist of Russia (2011). She was made famous by the 1985 melodrama Winter Cherries and its two sequels. In 1988, she was awarded the David di Donatello for her starring turn in Nikita Mikhalkov's film Dark Eyes. She was married to fellow actor Samuel Labarthe between 1992 and 1997. She has a son from that marriage.
Biography
She was a student at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography; between income librarian. She studied at the Film Institute for two years and then went to Leningrad, where in 1981 she graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography (Course R. Agamirzyan). In the same year she became an actress at the Komissarjevsky Theatre. She made her debut in film role Luba in the film I am my destiny (1974).
Since 1986, the actress "Mosfilm". From 1992 to 1997 she worked in France and in Russia. She now resides in Moscow.
