The Yuma Sun is a newspaper in Yuma, Arizona, United States.[1][2][3] It has a circulation of 18,799.[4]
History
The Morning Sun was first published in 1896; in 1935, it merged with the Arizona Sentinel (founded in 1872[5]) to become the Yuma Morning Sun.
Cox Enterprises acquired complete ownership of the Sun in 1984; Cox went on to sell its Arizona papers to Thomson Newspapers in 1996.[6][7] Thomson sold the Arizona papers to Freedom Communications in 2000.[8] In 2013, Rhode Island Suburban Newspapers acquired the Yuma Sun and the Porterville Recorder from Freedom Communications.[9]
