Zoanthus is a genus of soft coral, anthozoans in the family Zoanthidae.[1] It is the name genus for its family and order. The first record of Zoanthus pulchellus in India was reported in 2015 [2] by a group of researchers led by Dr. Felix Bast from Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, India

Zoanthids are prized in the fishkeeping hobby, being relatively easy to raise and very colorful. Known as "button polyps", "zoos", or "zoas" they can spread to completely cover a rock with brightly colored circular patterns.
