Ahmed Mohamed Gulaid (Somali: Axmed Maxamed Guuleed) aka Ahmed Jimaleh was the first chairman of Somali National Movement (SNM).[1]

Ahmed Mohamed Gulaid was one of the founding members of SNM and was the first to be elected as chairman of the organization in October 1981. As chairman he played an important role in establishing contact and support from the Ethiopian government. He was also involved in the constitution of the SNM and drafted the chapters dealing with foreign policy and the structure of a future state.[2]

After a political conflict in SNM, Ahmed Mohamed Gulaid resign from the position as chairman in January 1982.
