Alafia caudata grows as a climbing shrub or liana. Its fragrant flowers feature a white or yellowish corolla. Fruit is grey with paired follicles, each up to 36 centimetres (14 in) long. Habitat is mixed forest.[2] A. caudata is found in Cameroon, Central African Republic, Gabon, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, Angola, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.[3]
