Amana Bank Limited (ABL), commonly referred to as Amana Bank, is a commercial bank in Tanzania. It is one of the commercial banks licensed by the Bank of Tanzania, the central bank and national banking regulator.[1]

Location

The headquarters of Amama Bank Limited are located in the Golden Jubilee Tower, at the corner of Garden Avenue and Ohio Street, in downtown Dar es Salaam, the largest city in the country.[1] The coordinates of the bank's headquarters are 06°48'49.0"S, 39°17'21.0"E (Latitude:-6.813619; Longitude:39.289155).[2]

Overview

Amana Bank was established in 2011 with paid-up capital of TSh27 billion (approx. US$12.6 million in 2016 money). The bank is a fully licensed Islamic banking institution. As of July 2016, the bank had over 34,000 customers, served through seven branches, of which five were in Dar es Salaam, one in Mwanza and one in Arusha.[3]
