Amma Asentewaa Asante (born 14 May 1972)[1] is a Dutch politician. She has been a member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands for the Labour Party since 7 September 2016, when she replaced Tanja Jadnanansing. She previously served in the municipal council of Amsterdam from May 1998 until March 2006.[1][2]
Asante was born in Kumasi, Ghana.[1] In 1978 she moved to the Netherlands with her mother. Her father had been granted a stay in 1975. Asante was number 50 on the Labour Party list for the Dutch general election, 2012.[3]
