Anand Burman

Anand Burman (also known as Anand Chand Burman and Dr. Anand C Burman) an Indian entrepreneur and chairman of Dabur a leading consumer goods company.[1] Anand a billionaire with a net worth of $4.9 billion is among the Top 20 richest Indian and Forbes global billionaires.[2]

Early life

Burman was born in an Indian business family. His father was Ashok Chand Burman chairman emeritus of Dabur.[3] He finished his initial school education at St. Paul's School in Darjeeling, India. Burman completed his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin and his Master of Science degree from the University of Kansas. Burman also got his doctorate in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of Kansas.[4]

Dabur

Anand joined his family business Dabur as manager Research and Development department in 1980. He came on the companies board in 1986 and became chairman of Dabur in 2007.[5]

Other Associations

Anand is also the cofounder of Asian healthcare fund and serves on the board of director for 33 companies including Hero Motocorp, Aviva Life Insurance, Ester Industries, Interx Laboratories. Anand had also served as the chairman of Fresenius Kabi Oncology Ltd and an Independent Non-Executive Director of Hindustan Motors Ltd.[6] Anand started a non - profit organisation Sundesh working for healthcare, education.
