Annu Rani (born 28 August 1992 in Meerut[1]) is and Indian javelin thrower and is the current national record holder. [2] She is supported by Olympic Gold Quest , a not-for-profit foundation that identifies and supports Indian athletes.
Career
Rani, with a throw of 58.83 metres (193.0 ft) at the 2014 National Inter-State Championship in Lucknow, broke the national record previously held by Gurmeet Kaur.[3] With this throw, she qualified for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, with the selection criteria being 58.46 metres. At the event, she finished eighth, with a best of 56.37 meters in the final. In the same year, at the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, she won the bronze medal with a throw of 59.53 meters, in the process, bettered her personal best and broke the national record that she previously held.
