The Armoury (Maltese: L-Armerija), also known as the Old Fortified House (Maltese: Dar Fortifikata), is a historic building in Siġġiewi, Malta, which was originally used as the residence of the village Capitano, and it also served as an arsenal where the weapons of the local militia were stored.
Grand Master Ferdinand von Hompesch zu Bolheim was welcomed at the Armoury when he visited the village feast of Siġġiewi in 1797. At one point, the building also served as a primary school.[1]
The Armoury is a symmetrical building with two stories. The ground floor is buttressed, and it has an arched doorway in the centre. An open balcony is located above the doorway, and it is flanked by a slit window on either side.[2]
It is scheduled as a Grade 2 monument, and it is also listed on the National Inventory of the Cultural Property of the Maltese Islands.[2]
