Arya Vidya Mandir Bandra West and Santacruz Premises Arya Vidya Mandir Bandra West is the first institution from the Arya Vidya Mandir Group of Schools. It started in 1971 at the Santacruz premises and was followed by the Bandra West institute. The two schools were later merged and the younger classes are housed in Santacruz while the larger Bandra West premises houses the older classes. Santacruz (West)

This branch was the first of all the Arya Vidya Mandir set on Linking Road above the prestigious Santacruz Arya Samaj. It was officially merged with the Bandra (West) branch in 2007.

Shrimati Ramdevi Sobhraj Bajaj Arya Vidya Mandir School, Juhu is a progressive, Child centered and Co-Educational learning centre. It offers the nationally accepted ICSE (STD X) curriculum. The school was established in June 1989 and was initially under the umbrella of ‘Maharashtra State Board of Education’ offering classes’ up to Std IV. It was in 1996 that our first batch of students passed their 10th std through the SSC Board, not just with flying colours but with a 100 percent pass percentage too, a tradition that our children have upheld dearly to this day. Thereafter, the school got affiliated to the ‘Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations’ and the year 2001, saw the first batch of ICSE students of AVM, Juhu, pass out, again with a 100 percent pass percentage.

The school is now looking forward to introducing ISC (Std XI and XII) in the near future.

Vasudev C Wadhwa Arya Vidya Mandir school is located in the business centre — Bandra Kurla Complex, behind Asian Heart Institute and opposite the UTI building. It has a playground, a garden to play in, and a multipurpose hall where all the functions take place. The atrium is used as playing space for children. It has a library, laboratory, mathematics lab,and k-yan rooms. The principal of the school is Mrs Shobha Iyer.

The Arya Vidya Mandir society has always endeavoured to educate young minds conforming to Indian traditions and values. In order to widen its umbrella of providing education, the Society laid the foundation for Vasudev.C.Wadhwa Arya Vidya Mandir in the suave Bandra-Kurla Complex area. A spacious and well-equipped school building was meticulously designed to cater to the diverse needs of the students from the Pre-Primary to the Secondary Section. Finally, their dream took shape with the inauguration of the school by the then Governor, Mr. P.C Alexander on 3 May 1999. Since then, the Management and the staff have left no stone unturned to deliver the very best learning experiences to every child. In 2014, the school extended the ambit of its educational facilities by commencing the ISC (Commerce) programme. The institute of Early Education conducts the Diploma in Early Childhood Education under the aegis of the Mumbai Autonomous Board for Early Childhood Education.

The institute prepares teachers who will work in pre-primary classes and day-care centres. It aims to provide knowledge and the understanding of the principles of Early Childhood and to focus upon developing an insight into the techniques and requirements of education at the Early Childhood stage.

During the training, the student teachers learn to work effectively with children, besides organising and administering an Early Childhood School programme. Moreover, the teachers are empowered to equip and apply technology as a part of the teaching process. The trainees are guided in suitable techniques to handle students at different levels and different situations.

The Arya Vidya Mandir Institute of Education (AVMIOE) inculcates the school motto, ‘Knowledge is the nectar of life’ into the minds of the most important instrument of learning – the Teacher. AVM Institute of Special Education conducts a part-time certificate course, ‘Introduction to Learning Disabilities’. It is open to teachers, parents, therapists and all others working in the field of education and child welfare. The course aims at creating awareness of students’academic learning difficulties. Eminent persons in the field of medicine, psychology and education share their vast knowledge and experience, which helps trainees understand how students learn and what their difficulties are. Equipped with this knowledge, the trainees will be able to identify students with learning difficulties, assess their strengths and areas of need and take remedial action. The trainees learn to look at the problem holistically – from the parents’, the teachers’ as well as the students’ perspective. The course is conducted in two modules – June and November. Each module has 140 hours of classroom instruction in addition to the practical work through case study.

The branch is located in BKC, opposite to Mount Litera Zee school and near UTI Building.The principal is Mrs.Shobha Iyer.She has been teaching in Arya Vidya Mandir for 20 years.This branch contains all classes up to class 12.

Bandra (West) branch

The branch is located on St. Cyril road, opposite St. Andrews High School. The principal of the school was Mrs. Jyoti Kumar till 2016. She is currently the director of the AVM group of schools. The new principal is Mrs. Jimmy Agarwal Shah.

Juhu branch

The branch is the flagship school of the AVM group of schools. It is located in the affluent Juhu locality in Mumbai. The principal is Mrs.Alka Agarwal

Santacruz West Premises

This branch was the first of all the AVM's. It was officially merged with the Bandra (West) branch in 2007. It contains all classes of Bandra West branch up to class 3

AVM offers the ICSE curriculum. There are three divisions (A, B, C) and about forty children in each division.

Description

The Arya Vidya Mandir group of schools are based on the 10 principles of the Arya Samaj

The languages taught are English, Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi and Sanskrit . Sanskrit is a compulsory language taught from Standard 5 to 8. Co-curricular activities include art, physical education, swimming, public speaking and elocution as well as football, chess and a large emphasis on Yoga.

Although the medium of instruction is English, Indian culture and values are emphasized. Hindi, Sanskrit and Marathi Diwas (Days) are celebrated. The schools hosts an annual festival Utkarsh, MUN and Yuvagam a conf like MUN for issues on the domestic front.
