Aydınlar (formerly Avgadı) is a village in Erdemli district of Mersin Province, Turkey. At 36°46′N 34°07′E / 36.767°N 34.117°E / 36.767; 34.117 it is situated in Taurus Mountains. The distance to Erdenli is 33 kilometres (21 mi) and to Mersin is 69 kilometres (43 mi). population of the village was 238[1] as of 2012. There are cedar and turpentine forests around the village and the former name of the village may refer to game animals ("av" in Turkish means hunt). The major economic activity is agriculture. Apple, cherry and cereals are produced. Animal breeding is another acticity.[2]
