Predecessor BMW 3 Series Coupe E92

The BMW 4 Series (F32) is a compact executive coupé manufactured by the German automaker BMW. First official details of the 4 Concept 4 Series were released to the public by an official press release on 5 December 2012, detailing the intention to replace the current 3 Series coupé with a new 4 series line to further differentiate the more sporty coupé.[1][2] This move mirrored the strategy of arch rival Audi, who spun off the coupé and convertible versions of the A4 into the separate A5 nameplate some years earlier.

BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé (F36)

The BMW 4 Series is also available in a retractable hard-top convertible form (F33) and in the Gran Coupe body style (F36) since the 2014 model year.[3]

The 4 Series Coupe shares all technical features with F30 3 Series. The interior is almost the same as in the 3 Series except for the 2+2 seating configuration, and the exterior also shares the overall styling of the 3 Series. Its wheelbase is 110.6 inches, two inches longer than the 3 Series coupe and identical to the 3-series sedan. BMW has increased the front track by 1.8 inches, for 60.8 inches, and 3.1 inches to the rear, for 62.7. Its overall width is 71.9 inches, 1.7 inches wider than the 3 Coupe, and 0.6 inches lower, at 53.6. Overall length is 182.7 inches. The BMW 4 Series has made its debut in Detroit, United States at the North American International Auto Show in January 2013.[4]

In North America, at launch, the models of the all-new 4 Series will be 420d, 428i, 428i xDrive, 435i, and 435i xDrive.

Model Lines include four different "Lines". The Model Lines include Base Line (ES Line/SE Line), Luxury Line, Sport Line, and M Sport Line. The Model Lines will be available on all four 4 Series models.

The Base Line (ES Line/SE Line) allows the 4 Series buyer to select the individual options and packages that they want on their 4 Series. A black Comfort Access remote with a silver trim strip comes as standard equipment on the 4 Series.

The Luxury Line adds more luxury features to the 4 Series, such as luxury-style alloy wheels, luxury wood interior trim, and luxury front bucket seats. An Oyster-colored Comfort Access remote with a silver trim strip is also included with the package.

The Sport Line adds sporty features to the 4 Series, such as larger alloy wheels, red seat stitching, red dash accents, and sport front bucket seats. A black Comfort Access remote with a red trim strip is also included with the package.

Finally, the M Sport Line adds BMW M-like details to the 4 Series, such as an M-inspired body kit, larger alloy wheels, Estoril Blue seat stitching, Estoril Blue dash accents, and sport front bucket seats. A black Comfort Access remote with an Estoril Blue trim strip is also included with the package. Estoril Blue is also an exclusive exterior color choice that is only available to choose with this package.
