Badar Khalil (Urdu: بدر خلیل‎), also known as Baddo Apa, is a Pakistani television actress. She gained popularity for her role in play Bi Jamalo portraying herself as Bi jamalo, latter on she appeared in as many as hit serial in PTV from 1974 to till present, she is now doing a show Mithu Aur Aapa, a critically acclaimed comedy play on Hum TV.

Personal life

Badar khalil was born in Lahore, Pakistan, but now she is living in Karachi, Pakistan, She moved with her husband to Karachi after working for a short time period at LTV. Her husband was an acclaimed Pakistani director, the couple have two children's, Badar faced a very difficult period when her husband died in 1988.

Career

In Karachi her first main appearance was in Unkahi which was a classic Haseena Moin special. Badar Khalil started her showbiz career in 1968 as an anchor in children's shows on PTV. Initially, Khalil gained her recognition for the performance she gave in the play Bi Jamalo, in which she played Bi Jamalo herself, directed by Shahzad Khalil whom she had married (in real life) a few years before the drama hit screened. After a short spell at Lahore TV center, Khalil, with her husband, shifted to Karachi. In 1988, her husband Shahzad died of cardiac arrest. She has two children, Ibrahim and Umar. Badir Khalil has worked in many drama serials and she has effectively performed variety of roles. The actress Badar Khalil has been nominated in awards categories. The Pakistani actress Badar Khalil has a prolonged acting career and she still continues to show her acting skills in various drama serials on various TV channels.
