Bankers Healthcare Group Inc. is a privately owned, American company that provides financing to healthcare professionals.

History

Bankers Healthcare Group was founded in 2001 by Albert Crawford, Robert Castro and Eric Castro.[1] The corporate headquarters is located in Davie, Florida, with the financial headquarters located in Syracuse, New York. BHG also holds a national sales office in New York City and regional sales offices in Chicago, Illinois and Denver, Colorado.[2][3]

In the last decade, the company has experienced growth of over 2,500 percent.[4] BHG has eight times been ranked as one of the fastest growing companies by Inc., including a top five ranking in 2005.[5] BHG has over 270 employees.[6]

In 2013, the CNY Business Journal honored Bankers Healthcare Group as Central New York’s Best Place to Work and again named them as a finalist in 2014.[7][8] In 2016, BHG’s Davie location was named the best place to work by the South Florida Business Journal.[9]

In February 2015, Pinnacle Bank, acquired a 30 percent interest in Bankers Healthcare Group for $75 million.[10] In February 2016, Pinnacle purchased an additional 19% of BHG for $144 million worth of cash and stock.[11]

Services

Bankers Healthcare Group is a direct lender that provides financing to those in the healthcare industry. The company works with physicians, dentists and veterinarians as well as other healthcare specialties.[5] BHG provides financing for commercial purposes including working capital, debt consolidation and expansion and improvement.

In 2011, the company introduced a credit card option intended to support the purchase of medical equipment, association/membership fees and continuing education for healthcare professionals.[4][1]

BHG has provided over $2 billion in funding and positions itself as a fast and efficient method to obtain working capital.[6][12]

In 2015, BHG launched a sister company, BHG Insurance Services, to provide personal and commercial insurance coverage to healthcare professionals.[13]

Bankers Healthcare Group maintains financing partnerships with healthcare-related associations.[14] They include:

BHG is also involved with non-profit organizations, primarily focusing on healthcare matters. The company has donated over 100 surgeries to Operation Smile, an organization that provides reconstructive facial surgeries to children.[18] BHG has also provided funding to Team Red, White & Blue to outfit wounded veterans with custom-fit exercise gear.[19]
