Barpali(odia:ବରପାଲି) is a town and a notified area committee in Bargarh district in the state of Odisha, India.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Barapali had a population of 19,154. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Barapali has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 59% of the males and 41% of females literate. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. The great Oriya poet Gangadhar Meher was born at Barpali. The nearby settlements of Barpali include Gopaipali, Badgaon, Kainshir, Dhirpur, Barangpali and Kadalipali etc.

This town has its own significance.
1. Older version of sanitary toilets are being used here from time immemorial.
2. This town has many handloom worker. Some of them are master in IKAT. Many of those artists have brought laurel to this land including national award.
3. The town has presence of Goddess Samalei and has its own importance.
4. Sital Sasti is one other important point that must be place here. This festival has completed more than thousand of years.
