The Battle on the Bayou is the name of the rivalry between the Louisiana–Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns and the Louisiana–Monroe Warhawks.[1][2][3][4] The two fierce rivals have battled it out 51 times, including the Cajuns win over UL Monroe 36–35 on November 5, 2011, in a thriller at Cajun Field. The Louisiana–Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns currently hold a 27–24 edge in the series. Both schools are members of the Sun Belt Conference. The Battle on the Bayou is a rivalry not just in football, but in all sports when the Cajuns and Warhawks meet.[5][6][7]
