Bedok Police Division
Coordinates: 1°19′58.13″N 103°56′12.76″E / 1.3328139°N 103.9368778°E The Bedok Police Division (or 'G' Division, Chinese: 勿洛警区) is a police division of the Singapore Police Force. Based in the eastern part of Singapore, its headquarters is located at 30 Bedok North Road, operating a total of seven Neighbourhood Police Centres (NPC) and 17 Neighbourhood Police Posts (NPP) spread across the Bedok, Changi, Geylang, Marine Parade, Pasir Ris, and Tampines areas. It manages crime in a 114 km² area populated by about 840,000 residents.
History
Previously headquartered at Joo Chiat Police Station in East Coast Road under the former NPP system, the present headquarters took over jurisdiction of the division on 1 August 1987. The rest of the NPCs came online when the NPC system was implemented here on 17 December 2000. When the Geylang Police Division was closed in December 2000, 'G' Division took over half of its areas of control, while the rest came under the Ang Mo Kio Police Division and Central Police Division, thus extending its responsibilities to critical areas and sites around Geylang Road and the National Stadium, where major events regularly require support from the entire division and beyond, such as during the National Day Parade when it is held there.[1]
Other major events handled by the division include the Singapore Airshow exhibitions in Changi, and the Hari Raya Puasa bazaars at Geylang Serai.

Incident
Bedok Police Division is part of an ongoing Kovan double murder trial in which ex-policeman Iskandar Rahmat allegedly murdered car workshop owner Tan Boon Sin, 67, and his son, Tan Chee Heong, 42, on 10 July 2013. Iskandar was then a Senior Staff Sergeant and working as an investigation officer in Bedok Police Division when he faced disciplinary proceedings for being financially embarrassed because of a $50,000 debt to OCBC Bank.[2] He was handling an initial police report made by Tan Boon Sin about a case of theft[3] Deputy Superintendent of Police Daniel Wong was summoned as a witness during the ongoing trial[4] that may conclude in December 2015.
