Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology is an engineering college affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. It was opened in 2007 in Rohini, Delhi, India.[1]
In view of the national and international scenario of the growing demand of qualified technical personnel in different streams of engineering technology and management, Bhartiya Brahmin Charitable Trust in 2005 laid the foundation of Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology (BPIT). BPIT is approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and the Directorate of Training and Technical Education, Government of National Capital Territory, Delhi.[2] It is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi and offers courses of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and Master of Business Administration (MBA), which are approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
BPIT is spread in an area of about 5.7 acres and has four storey building of academic and office complex with lifts.
Location
BPIT is located in Rohini Sector-17 on Dr, K.N. Katju Marg. BPIT has a campus of over 5.64 acres (22,800 m2) and is 3.1 km from Rithala Metro Station through Metro Walk Road. The buildings have four stories.
Infrastructure
BPIT has classrooms, a drawing hall, laboratories, a computer center, playground for cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, workshops and a conference/seminar hall having provision of PA system, individual microphones and a LCD/Plasma projection system. Washrooms are supposedly neat and clean. The air conditioned library is well equipped with books. The college has a facility for a girls hostel. The accommodation charges are Rs. 4000 per month and separate mess fee of Rs.2800 per month. The hostel facilities are Good. Sadly, the college doesn’t provide a boys hostel.
Computers
The computer center houses a large number of computers equipped with the software and hardware configuration required by AICTE norms. The computers are networked through a formatted LAN wiring. There are internet connections to all laboratories and faculty rooms.
Attendance
Overall the attendance scenario is pretty average and students don’t find it rigorous. Though 75% is compulsory, an attendance of around 60% is okay and accepted failing which students have to pay a fine of Rs. 2000 to Rs. 5000 depending on the level of attendance. Fortunately, students are left with warnings and there is no detention or year drop.
Crowd
As the college is affiliated to IPU, most of the crowd is from the main city of Delhi. There are students from other regions like Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad as well. Students from other states and foreign countries are rare. The university topper is from this college since the last few years. In a nutshell, the crowd is quite mixing and celebrate their college festival on a huge scale. Seniors don’t harass their juniors anymore.
Hangouts
The college is located right opposite the most popular mall in the Rithala region, G3S multiplex. Movie and food lovers find this multiplex an ultimate past time. Metrowalk near the station, Amusement Park, is also frequently visited by the BPITites.
Festivals
'Corona', the annual cultural festival of Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology, is generally held in the last week of March. The festival is celebrated on an inter college level and there are participants from many other colleges as well. Faridkot, a popular rock band, had a live performance in 2011. In 2012, Juggy D and Bollywood DJ, DJ Suketu were the part of the star night of the program. In 2013, the famous singer Rabbi Shergill performed for the spectators.
