University School of Chemical Technology is one of the constituent school of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. It is the only government institution dedicated to Chemical Technology except IIT Delhi in Delhi-NCR region. School was established in 1999; the same year when other constituent schools of university were formed.[1]
History
University School of Chemical Technology (USCT) was established by Government of Delhi as one of 12 University Schools of Studies under the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The school was formed to provide higher level of education in the field of chemical science for the highly growing chemical industry of India. The school is recently shifted to Dwarka, [new delhi] Campus of the University.
Programs
School offers the following programme, in the field of Chemical Engineering:-
- B.Tech - 4-year program
- M.Tech - 2-year program
- B.Tech+M.Tech Dual Degree - 6-year program
- Ph.D - Minimum 2 year
From 2013 onwards the school has also started offering :
- B.Tech+M. Tech Dual Degree (Biochemical Engineering) - 6-year program
The dual degree programs are offered under a 4+2 scheme, wherein a student can exit at the end of four years with a B.Tech degree.
Admission
Admission for the four year B.tech course is done on the basis of merit; strictly based on the Common Entrance Exam of GGSIPU - B.Tech Program and for M.Tech program either the score of GATE or entrance exam based merit is required.
