Bhakthajanangalude Sradhakku (Malayalam: ഭക്തജനങ്ങളുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയ്ക്ക്) is a 2011 Malayalam satirical drama film directed by National award-winning director Priyanandanan. The film is scripted by Manoj based on a story by Ranjith. It stars Kavya Madhavan and Irshad in the lead roles. The film narrates the story of a self-declared demi-god and her alcoholic husband. It is reportedly inspired from the life of the controversial godwoman Divya Joshi.[1] The movie is produced by Jahangir Shamz under the banner of xarfnet movies.

Plot

Sumangala (Kavya Madhavan) is married to a government employee named Viswanathan (Irshad). Viswanathan is committed to his family, which includes their two kids and his mother. Things go horribly wrong when he becomes an alcoholic. Fed up of her husband's incorrigible ways, Sumangala is forced to become a godwoman. This forms the turning point in the film.

Cast

Production

The film was shot from various parts of Kannur. Priyanandan announced the film soon after his Prithviraj-Kavya Madhavan starrer Mandarappoovalla got shelved. The songs recorded for Mandarappoovalla are used in this film.
