Boomerang Bay is a water park at California's Great America amusement park in Santa Clara, California. The water park is owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company and is included with the price of admission to California's Great America.
History
Boomerang Bay opened in 2004 as the first water park in California to be included within an amusement park.[2] Originally opening as a 2.7-acre (11,000 m2) water park, Boomerang Bay saw an expansion the following year in 2005 to 11 acres (45,000 m2) with the addition of a lazy river ride, two water slides and a 150,000-US-gallon (570 m3) swimming pool. The original name was Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay, but changed to just Boomerang Bay in 2007 after Cedar Fair purchased Paramount's Great America from CBS Corporation. Cedar Fair also renamed the park to California's Great America.
