In 1989, tenor saxophonist Stan Getz recorded a couple of sessions for A&M Records. But the results were shelved in favor of Apasionado, an orchestrated latin jazz suite that was released in 1990. These sessions, recorded by A&M and issued for the first time on Verve Records, show Getz playing bossa nova and ballads in his later years. It also highlighted the compositions of Kenny Barron, with whom Getz worked in his final years.
