Brent Dennis Lang (born January 25, 1968) is an American former competitive swimmer, Olympic gold medalist, and a healthcare technology business leader.

Currently, Lang is the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vocera Communications, Inc. (NYSE:VCRA), the leading healthcare communications company. He has served as President and CEO and as a board member of Vocera since June 2013. Prior to being named CEO, Lang was the company’s President and Chief Operating Officer and a key member of the team that led Vocera’s successful IPO in March 2012. Lang joined Vocera in 2001 and served as the company’s Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for more than five years, spearheading the initial business plan, product development, and go-to market strategies. Before joining Vocera, Lang was the Senior Director of Marketing at 3Com Corporation, where he spent six years, leading several product management and marketing projects. He co-founded the home networking division, and managed the rapid growth of the Fast Ethernet network interface card business. Prior to working at 3Com, he was a Strategy Consultant for Monitor Company, advising Fortune 500 companies. In December 2014, Lang earned a CEO World Award for his visionary leadership; and in 2015, he was a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2016 Award in the Northern California Region.

Lang graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in industrial and operations engineering before earning an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. While at the University of Michigan, he was a member of the 1988 U.S. Olympic Swimming Team and won a Gold Medal in the 4X100 Freestyle Relay at the Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. In National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) competition, he won four NCAA national championships as a Michigan swimmer—twice in the 50-yard freestyle (1989, 1990) and twice in the 100-yard freestyle (1988, 1990). In December 2014, Lang was announced as one of the six recipients of the 2015 Silver Anniversary Awards, presented annually by the NCAA to outstanding former student-athletes on the 25th anniversary of the end of their college sports careers. The award is based on both athletic and professional success. In 2015, Lang was inducted into the University of Michigan Athletics Hall of Honor.
