The Teucer Owl butterfly[2] (Caligo teucer) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It was described by Linnaeus in 1758. It is found from Colombia and Venezuela to Bolivia and Paraguay. The habitat consists of rainforests and cloudforests at altitudes ranging from 400 to 1,400 meters.[2]

The wingspan is about 100 mm.[3]

The larvae feed on Heliconia and Musa species.
