Japanese Beautyberry (Callicarpa japonica) is a tree with purple berry fruits. The flowers can range from pink to white. This species is native to China, Japan, Korea, Ryukyu Islands, and Taiwan.[1] It is cultivated as an ornamental tree, and it is very popular in gardens and parks.
The berries are not edible for humans, but provide food for birds and deer. The leaves can be used to make herbal tea.
