Carpeneto is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) southeast of Turin and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of Alessandria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 923 and an area of 13.6 square kilometres (5.3 sq mi).[1]
Carpeneto borders the following municipalities: Montaldo Bormida, Predosa, Rocca Grimalda, Sezzadio, and Trisobbio.
The baroque church of San Giorgio is a main Roman Catholic parish.
