The cover features a picture of the fashion model Anne Dos Santos holding Tim Scott’s custom sparkly pink Jackson signature guitar shot by the photographer Bernie Cavanagh.[2]
This single was recorded, mixed and produced by Tim Scott at Acer Studios, Greater Manchester, mastered on 16 December 2010 by Geoff Pesche in Suite 5 at Abbey Road Studios, London.
Critical reception
Sarah Walters of CityLife gave the song a positive review stating:
YOU need three things to appreciate Tim Scott's brand of guitar-mashing properly: sunshine, a sandy beach and a pina colada. Built over banging house vibes that switch between a party in Ibiza and the soundtrack to a computer console racing game, Cataclysmic Pink is an astute meeting of worlds - a sonic car crash you might expect to end in tears, but one Scott's utterly exotic style of guitar playing manages to meld incredibly satisfyingly.[1]
