Chandrashekhar Krishnarao Bawankule (was born on 13 Jan 1969) is a member of the 13th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly[1] & currently Minister for Ministry of Energy, New and Renewable Energy Maharashtra[2][3] and also appointed as Nagpur Guardian Minister on 26 December 2014.[4][5] He represents the Kamthi Assembly Constituency and belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP). It is his third term as Member of Legislative Assembly since 2004, 2009 & 2014.[6] He was Secretary of Bhartiya Janata Party, Maharashtra State Unit in Devendra Fadnavis Team in 2012. In cabinet expansion he was given state excise department charge on 10th july 2016 .

Chandrashekhar Bawankule was born in Kamthi into a Marathi Teli family.
Chandrashekhar Bawankule married Jyoti. He has a daughter named Payal and son Sanket. His daughter Payal is LLB,LLM(London).
Early life
Chandrashekherji K. Bawankule was born & brought up in a farmer’s family with a non-political background. Koradi located near Nagpur is the place where he pursued his higher education in the stream of Science & completed first year. He had started his social work with his first group named “Chhatrapati Sena” and his first movement for to fight for the supply of electricity to the Remote Areas. 1995 was the year he entered Bharatiya Janata Party
Political career
Mr. Chandrashekherji K. Bawankule's career commenced in earnest in the early nineties, he started movement for supply of Electricity and went behind the bars in 1990. He started “Chhatrapati Sena” and continued its social work till 1994 without any self interest. Then he joined Bhartiya Janata Party under leadership of Late Gopinath Munde & Nitin Gadkari in 1995 and became Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (youth wing of the BJP) in Maharashtra in 1995.
In 1997 & 2002, Bawankule was elected as a District Council Member. In 2004, he was elected to the Maharashtra state assembly for the first time. He is currently serving his third term as MLA as of 2014. Bawankule was sworn in as the Minister for Energy, New & Renewable Energy of Maharashtra from the BJP on 6 December 2014.
