Christian Ramirez Diaz (born August 8, 1978 in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican football defender, who plays for UNAM Pumas in the Primera Division de Mexico.
Ramirez stands at 5'8 and weighs 178 lbs. He wears #13 on the back of his jersey. He played in only 1 game for Chivas during the Clausura 2006 tournament, against Monarcas Morelia. He got a chance to start that game as well, playing until the 75th minute, when he received a direct red card for a rough slide tackle. Ramirez also hanged around for the Clausura playoffs, and also played in 1 game. He was called up from Chivas' farm team Chivas Coras Tepic, when Chivas lost their 6 star players to the Mexico National Team.
Christian Ramirez is a journeyman player, whose career in Mexican football spans since 2000. His first team was Pumas UNAM during the Invierno 2000-2001 tournament. Then, during the Vernano 2000-2001 tournament, he was shipped to Toluca. The Invierno 2001-2002 tournament found him back with Pumas, where he also played the Verano. He was traded back to Toluca for the Apertura 2002-2003, but for the Clausura, he packed his bags to Morelia. It seemed that Ramirez could not stay with one team. In the Apertura 2003-2004 tournament he was traded to América. He stayed with América, but was sent down to play with América's Primera A team. Later, he was traded to rival club Chivas for the Clausura 2004-2005.
His total career stats are: 158 games played, 142 games started, 12,480 minutes played, 16 substitutions, 4 goals, 1 own goal, 40 yellow cards, and 5 red cards.
He was the UP's soccer team. He likes\d to play with a 4-2-3-1, liked to start the offense from the defense. Huante was his assistant coach and Armand the physic coach. Nowadays he is the coach of Pumas Naucalpan, a team that plays in the Segundo Division of the Mexico football league.
