Clare Samuel Hunter was an American football coach in the United States.

Coaching career

Hunter was the head college football coach for the Michigan State Normal Normalites (now called the Eastern Michigan University Eagles) located in Ypsilanti, Michigan and he held that position for the 1909 season.[1] His coaching record at Michigan Normal was 2 wins and 4 losses.[2] As of the conclusion of the 2010 season, this ranks him #28 at the school in total wins and #25 at the school in winning percentage (.333).[3][4]

He was an alumnus of the University of Michigan as well as Eastern Michigan.[5] During his time at Eastern Michigan, he resided at 119 North Adams Street at Ypsilanti.[6]

He later resided in Boise, Idaho where he died in 1940.[7][8]
