Thomas Harvey Ransom was a doctor and American football and basketball coach in the United States.
Coaching career
Ransom was the head college football coach for the Michigan State Normal Normalites (now called the Eastern Michigan University Eagles) located in Ypsilanti, Michigan and he held that position for the 1914 season.[1] His coaching record at Normal was 3 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie.[2] As of the conclusion of the 2010 season, this ranks him #25 at Eastern Michigan in total wins and #9 at the school in winning percentage (.583).[3]
Ransom, who had an M.D., resided at 950 Sheridan Street in Ypsilanti when he worked at the university.[4] He had previously resided at Bloomingdale, where he was one of the first citizens to own a car.[5][6] In addition to having the position as Instructor in Physical Education, Ransom was also a health inspector at the school.[7]
Born in Grant County, Indiana in 1870,[8] Ransom married Nelle Pearl Wiggins on April 2, 1902.[9][10]
He died on June 3, 1946 in California.[11][12]
