Coprophanaeus ensifer is a species of beetles belonging to the family Scarabaeidae.

Description

Coprophanaeus ensifer can reach a length of about 35–56 millimetres (1.4–2.2 in).[2] This large-sized necrophagous beetle has a horn on pronotum of similar size in males and females. Body colour is usually dark green.[3]

Distribution and habitat

This species can be found in Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay. It prefer tropical dry forest and savanna at an elevation of 0–780 metres (0–2,559 ft) above sea level.[2]
