David Robert Mitchell (born c. 1974) is an American film director and writer. He directed the coming-of-age drama The Myth of the American Sleepover (2010). His supernatural horror film It Follows (2014) was acclaimed by critics and commercially successful considering its low, independent film budget.[1][2] His next project is currently titled Under the Silver Lake, a modern noir film set in Los Angeles, which is set to star Andrew Garfield.[3]
Life and career
Mitchell was born in Clawson, Michigan.[4] He graduated from Florida State University with an MFA in Production.[5] He was named as a member of the jury of the International Critics' Week section of the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.[6]
