Dean of Winchester

Winchester Cathedral

The Dean of Winchester is the head of the Chapter of Winchester Cathedral in the city of Winchester, England, in the Diocese of Winchester.^[1] Appointment is by the Crown.^[2] The first incumbent was the last Prior, William Kingsmill,^[3] and the post is currently vacant following the retirement of James Atwell. Catherine Ogle has been appointed to take up the post in February 2017.^[4]
