Djiboutian presidential election, 1981

Presidential elections were held in Djibouti for the first time on 12 June 1981. The only candidate was incumbent Hassan Gouled Aptidon of the People's Rally for Progress, the country's sole legal party. He was re-elected with 84.58% of the vote.[1] Voter turnout was around 85%.
