The Dyserth Branch Line was a two and a half mile long London and North Western Railway built single track branch railway line in Denbighshire, Wales, that ran from Prestatyn on the North Wales Coast Line to Dyserth via five intermediate stations, Chapel Street, Woodland Park (to be Meliden Road, but Rhuddlan Road until 1923), St. Melyd Golf Links, Meliden and Alt-y-Craig (altered to Allt-y-Graig during 1929).

History

The branch line to Dyserth was opened by the LNWR in 1869, initially for mineral traffic only. A passenger service was instituted in 1905 but lasted only until 1930, when it was withdrawn by the LMS. It remained open to serve a quarry at Dyserth until complete closure in 1973.[1] Much of the old line is now used as a footpath.

There are many historical features on this walk such as two pieces of track at Chapel Street, Woodland Park Bridge, Meliden Good Shed and Loading Gauge and an original crane from Dyserth Railway at the end of the walk.[2]
