Emily Pickering Harner, is a retired American female soccer player, who played on the U.S. women's national soccer team in 1985, the first official U.S women's national team in history.[1] She assisted the first goal for the national team, and scored the second (both against Denmark).[2] Pickering was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1986.[3]

Personal life

Pickering was raised in Long Island as the seventh of eight children. She started playing soccer at a young age with many of her friends. She currently lives with her two children and her husband in Maryland.
