Eulogio "Frankie" de la Cruz Martinez (pronounced /eɪuˈloʊxiːoʊ/) (born March 12, 1984 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is a retired pitcher in professional baseball. He played in Major League Baseball for the Detroit Tigers, Florida Marlins, San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers and in Nippon Professional Baseball for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows.
Career
Detroit Tigers
In 2006, he went 5–6 with a 3.43 ERA with the Erie SeaWolves and 0–0 in 2 1⁄3 innings with an 11.57 ERA with the Toledo Mud Hens.
Florida Marlins
On December 5, 2007, the Tigers traded Cruz, Andrew Miller, Cameron Maybin, Mike Rabelo, Dallas Trahern, and Burke Badenhop to the Florida Marlins for Dontrelle Willis and Miguel Cabrera.[1]
San Diego Padres
On March 25, 2009, the San Diego Padres acquired De La Cruz for a player to be named later or cash from the Marlins.[2]
Yakult Swallows
He played with the Yakult Swallows in 2010.
Milwaukee Brewers
On January 13, 2010, De La Cruz signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Chicago Cubs
On March 16, 2012, He was claimed off waivers by the Chicago Cubs.
