The Fairfield University School of Engineering is a graduate and undergraduate engineering school and one of the professional schools of Fairfield University located in Fairfield, Connecticut. The school offers fully accredited graduate and undergraduate programs, according to the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
There are MS Programs in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Master of Technology and Software Engineering. The Electrical and Computer Engineering program has 10 domains, including biomedical engineering, power, microelectronics, enterprise computing and networked embedded systems.
History
- 1994: Fairfield University acquired the Bridgeport Engineering Institute.
- 1996: Electrical and mechanical engineering programs accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
- 1998: Master of Science offered in management of technology and software engineering.
- 1999: School of Engineering becomes a separate undergraduate school.
- 2006: Software and computer engineering programs accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
- 2010: Henry Luce Foundation awarded grant to the School of Engineering to establish the Clare Boothe Luce Professorship in Mechanical Engineering for an outstanding woman engineer/scholar.[1]
- 2010: Boehringer Ingelheim donated $700K of industrial robotic equipment to the School of Engineering to be used in the school's automated manufacturing engineering curriculum.[2]

Cooperative program in engineering
The undergraduate program can be completed in four years at Fairfield or in a 3-2 program where students complete three years at Fairfield University, followed by two years of engineering studies in one of Fairfield’s partner institutions, Columbia University SEAS, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the University of Connecticut, or the Stevens Institute of Technology.

- Undergraduate mechanical engineering students finished third overall in the 2003 American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) Competition.[3][4]
- Graduate software engineering student Maria Sette received Cisco Networking Academy's 2007 Global Recognition Award.[5]
