Harry James Byart (born 11 March 1994 in Greenwich, London), better known by his former stage name Fugative, is an English singer, rapper, songwriter and record producer.[1] He worked with Kirk Burrowes in April 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia the former manager of Mary J. Blige and co-founder of Bad Boy Records after Burrowes was contacted by Byart's mother Gloria who previously worked as a Publicist to Marvin Gaye. .[2] Fugative has toured with Basshunter[3] and has been favourably received by BBC Radio One's Nick Grimshaw who proclaimed, "I want this kid's nuts!" on his Switch radio show.[1] Fugative also released "The Departure" Mixtape in 2010.
Early career -Rapping (2008-2013)
His debut single, "It's Summertime", peaked at number two in the UK Urban Chart before remaining in the top five for 17 consecutive weeks.[4] This was followed by the release of "Jimmy Shoe" on 6 April 2009. In April 2009 he travelled for a week to Atlanta, Georgia to work with Kirk Burrowes and various producers. His third single, "Supafly" reached #48 in the UK Singles chart.[5] He released his fourth single "Crush", in the UK on 10 May 2010, it reached #26 in the Official UK Charts. It remains Fugative's best chart performance so far.[6] On 25 July 2010, a fifth single, "Bad Girl" feat. Celeste Scalone was released, but peaked at a lower #59. Fugative confirmed his first studio album will be called No Goin Home In August 2010 he announced that he had signed a record deal in Japan and went there for five days in November 2010. He cleaimed to be going on an Asia Tour to promote his music in 2011 however these plans failed to materialise.[7] A sixth single, "Go Hard" featuring MZ Bratt and Wiley will be released on 27 February 2011.[8] Fugative released his seventh single "Home" on 4 September 2011, featuring Ed Sheeran and Sway. In 2012 Fugative released a blog previewing a new single called Sun Don't Shine this has not yet been released.But in September 2012 Fugative uploaded a new single on YouTube called OTT and this was released on iTunes on 6 January 2013 this is the first single from his up and coming EP. The second single from the EP is called Charlie Sheen and was released on 30 June 2013. Fugative has said that his EP will be released in early 2014.
Present career as a Singer 2014 -
In early 2014 it emerged that Byart would no longer be going by the stage name of 'Fugative' instead he would be going by 'Harry James'. Also the music he would make involves him singing rather than rapping. In May 2014 it was announced that Harry James was now managed by Jacqueline Kidd who owns Survivor Music Group & Twenty8 Artist Management. She is also the Canadian partner of producer Mike Daddy Evans. In June 2014 Harry James flew out to the United States to record and meet his new management team. He first visited Miami and is currently based in Toronto, Canada for the next few months as he develops himself as an artist. He visited New York City in August 2014.[9]
Acting career (2015 - Present) -
In mid 2015 trailers surfaced online featuring Byart in his debut interracial male/male adult performance in "Summertime Fun". This was also Byart's directorial debut. The trailers have subsequently been removed. According to Harry James' instagram account "were still cuttin the vid right now, stay patience, gonna be featuring fresh music from me fam" [sic].
