Jim Fernandez's Galema: Anak ni Zuma (lit. Galema: Child of Zuma) is a 2013 Philippine daytime television drama series based on the comic book Zuma created by Jim Fernandez. It is also the 1987 film of the same title starring Jenny Lynn, Max Laurel and Dang Cecilio, courtesy of Cine Suerte. The series aired on ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Gold afternoon block and worldwide on The Filipino Channel from September 30, 2013 to March 28, 2014, replacing Dugong Buhay. It is topbilled by Andi Eigenmann.[1]
Synopsis
Galema: Anak ni Zuma began with Galela (Sheryl Cruz), who got raped by Zuma (Derick Hubalde) that resulted to Galema (Andi Eigenmann). All along, Galela thought that her child with Zuma was dead. But, Isabel (Sunshine Cruz), Galela's sister, decided to keep her like her true child, though Galema is her niece.
Through the years, Galema grew like a normal person despite her twin snakes surrounded on her neck, she can hide it by her hair. Even though she is Zuma's daughter, she is still in favor of the police in trying to defeat Zuma. One day, Isabel tried to ask Galela, if her child with Zuma survived, and she is in favor of our side on defeating Zuma, would you accept her? Galela said no. This hurts so much for Galema knowing that she is Zuma's daughter with Galela.
Morgan (Matteo Guidicelli), Galema's long time friend, proposed to Galema. Galema said yes. Gina (Meg Imperial), Galema's sister (she is really Galema's cousin), tried to seduce Morgan one night before the wedding. But, Morgan's loyalty for Galema prevailed so he immediately pushed Gina away.
And, it was the day of the wedding, everyone was filled with joy, excitement, especially for Galema and Morgan. But, when Morgan and Galema were almost officialy husband and wife, they will face a big obstacle because Dean (Kit Thompson), Zuma's son from another girl, and Zuma, went to the wedding to get Galema's twin snakes, because he thought all along that he would become a normal person if he got Galema's snake, but it was just Zuma's way to kill Galema without doing anything.
Galela was the one who was really surprised, because she saw Galema's snake in her own eyes. This is now the start of Galela's cold treatment for Galema. Galema, longing for her mother's acceptance, did anything her mother wants, including leaving the house because Galela remembers what Zuma did to her everytime she sees Galema.
After a while, Galema got pregnant, the doctor said that there is a baby but there is a mysterious long creature surrounding the baby's neck. Months after, Galema finally gave birth to a baby boy and a snake. Morgan, really loved Ethan (👶🏻) but not Sophia (🐍).
Meanwhile, Joseph (Bodie Cruz), proposed to Gina. So Gina arranged a party on their house. Joseph, not knowing Galema has a child that is a snake, thought that the snake will bite him. So, because of his nervousness, he threw many things at Sophia so Sophia bit him resulting to his death. Gina, due to her anger at Sophia, she did many evil things. First, she tried to kill Sophia. Second, she tried to burn her,
On the other hand, Galela, is slowly accepting Galema in her life. But, Zuma's poison in her body prevailed, so she became Galema's biggest enemy.
At the end, Galema managed to defeat Zuma (but not kill because Zuma can't die), by putting all her poison in Zuma's body before returning it to him (she managed to beheaded Zuma in the past). After that, the fight is still not over, Galema still needs to face her mom. Galela, swallowed Galema, until Galema can't breathe in her stomach. But, Galela's love for her child Galema prevailed, and stabbed herself to let Galema out. Galela died by saving Galema.
After that, the amulet, the object that can make Galema a normal person. Galema should be the one to wear it so that she will be a normal human being, but, her love for Sophia prevailed and decided to give it to her.
Years later, Galema and Morgan's children grew older. At the swimming pool, Zuma appeared to get Ethan (Lance Lucido), but before that, Galema showed up and challenged Zuma for a fight. (That will be the closing of show)
