Gardez Air Base

Gardez Air Base is a military facility in Paktia Province, Afghanistan.[1][2] The airbase was used as a regional collection center in the program to disarm Afghanistan's local militias.[3]

In addition to the cantonment that took place in the past, heavy weapons cantonment has started in Gardez, where a weapons collection team has moved 142 heavy weapons to a cantonment site at Gardez airfield that is guarded by the Afghan National Army (ANA).
